Fiesta

I can't say enough great things about Fiesta ware... I signed up for it for wedding gifts and received many wonderful pieces in my four chosen colors: colbalt, sunflower, tangerine, and turquoise. When I registered at Macy's, the girl that helped me told me that Fiesta is like a cult, and that there are crazy people that scout pieces out for their collection. I fear that I may become one of those pieces! The pieces are a little old fashioned, but look great in either a traditional or modern kitchen. My kitchen is a mix of traditional and modern. Our house is from the 1960s and we've modernized it a bit. These pieces could not be more perfect in our house. Looking online today, I found pieces that I plan on collecting...

Above: Fiesta canisters in Sunflower, Teapot in Sunflower (but I want it in Turquoise), and adorable carafe in Tangerine

Sunglasses

On the honeymoon, my new hubby and I had a slight accident when our kayak flipped over and I admit that I freaked out. Luckily, the new hubby was under control and took care of me, got me back in the kayak and calmed down.

But alas, I didn't notice until we got back to shore that lost my beloved Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses. I really shouldn't buy designer sunglasses (I lost a burberry pair for two years, found them, and then lost thing again.... rolled over my Chanel sunglasses with my car... the list continues). But I just love them...

So now I'm on the hunt again for "the perfect pair." Until then... I'm stuck squinting from the sun.

I'm Back!

Since my last post... I'm married and we got back from on honeymoon last Saturday.

The honeymoon was PERFECTION! It would not have gone better. We highly recommend the Majestic Colonial Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Our room was amazing... the picture above is the view from our balcony.

New Purchase

I just picked this up at Target... on sale for $15! Awesome. The super flirty ruffles make me want to salsa and would look cute with some hot silver heels. Maybe that will be my next purchase...

Tankinis

I'm not really a bikini girl... my love of chocolate and carbs prevents me from having that ideal bikini body.

However, tankinis are a great alternative to the boring one-piece.

Looking for tankinis for the honeymoon...

Honeymoon!

We just booked our honeymoon! We're going to the Majestic Colonial Resort in the Dominican Republic. The future hubby did nightly research finding the right resort for us... the room has a Jacuzzi on the bancony and our room is oceanfront. Free flowing alcohol, all expenses paid for, tons of surf and sun... it's going to be amazing! I can't wait for the wedding of course... but the honeymoon is when the real fun begins!

A Piece of Cake

Looking for something to read this summer?

I highly recommend "A Piece of Cake" by Cupcake Brown. It's a fascinating story of a girl who faced unbelievable hardships and her recovery. It's not exactly a "light" read, but you'll be so drawn in by Cupcake, that you won't be able to put it down.

I would tell you more...but why spoil it? Go get it...

Boot Camp

My friend and I both have former Army soldiers as fiancees. She's a bridesmaid in the upcoming wedding, and therefore also has a dress to fit into.

For the last month, our boys are going to "go army" on us and put us through some of their former exercises.

Two days ago, my future hubby worked us out. He focused on abs and lower body... and let me tell you, for the last two days, I can't walk, take stairs, or even get up from a chair without wincing in pain! It will worth it... right???

Doggie Bowls

So today I was filling up the doggie water bowl, and I realized how unattractive the plain stainless steel bowls are. It's time to revamp our doggie decor and we're on the look out for something more attractive.

These are cute... but can I justify $100 for two bowls? Probably not... but maybe Target will come out with a similar version :)

New Shoes for the Honeymoon

You've got to love it when your boy buys you shoes.

He walked by these with me and, although I had already spotted them, he turned around and grabbed them. "You MUST have these for the honeymoon!" I said I didn't want to spend the money. His response, "My treat." Um, how could I say no to that?

They remind me of a pair of Candies that I had in the late 90s, with the wooden base and brackets. And...I can actually walk in them!

Working on the Backyard

We've been working on getting the backyard in order... it's still a mess, but it's going to be beautiful one day!

We painted our covered patio, and are contemplating staining the concrete underneath, although I admit that I'm nervous that it will look horribly wrong.

Here's a few images that inspire me and I hope that my patio will look this beautiful one day!

Another Wedding Post

Sorry, but there are probably going to be a lot of these until the Big Day.

Going to pick out the groom's attire today, as well as the groomsmen. It's a semi-casual wedding, so we are thinking of a suit similar to the one above. Black just doesn't seem right for a June wedding, when the sun will be blazing down for sure!

Also, the guys are going to wear chucks with them instead of the uncomfortable dressy shoes. It fits with the groom's personality... and it's also just so cute :)

Wedding Hair

My wedding is fast approaching: June 13, 2009.

Most of the details are already handled, but one thing I can't decide on is my hairstyle. I've been growing my hair out and it's currently just past my chest. I want to put half my hair up, half down. I've decided to forgo a veil... it's just not me. So instead, I've thought about putting flowers in my hair.

I found an example online that I'm leaning towards... still not sure what flowers to use yet.

What do you think?

Flip Flop Time!

It's burning hot today! Summer is on its way.

My favorite thing about the summer is flip flops. Well, I actually wear them year round, even when it's freezing... they are just so comfortable!

But, my current flip flops are worn: used and abused. Time to replenish, just in time for the summer season.

My favorite flips ever are Rainbows. Yes, they are incredibly simple, but they will last you for years. You can get them wet in the ocean and they will continue to look like new. After 5 years with my current rainbows, it's time to renew. Ordering some today!

First Post

I'm going to attempt at keeping this blog up and running. I've tried blogging before and always failed. Keep leaving comments and I'll keep it going!
